On Campus Tutoring Services

Math Club:

Our fantastic Math Club offers free tutoring for all students in all math levels. Please obtain a pass from your math teacher to attend tutorial in room 211 (Mrs. Saiki's class).

National Honor Society students volunteer their time to tutor students who need extra support. Come to room 211 every day during Lunch OR after school on Wednesdays and Thursdays!

  How does it work?

  1. Talk to the teacher you hope to see during tutorial period. Obtain a pass from him/her BEFORE the tutorial period during YOUR free time.
  2. On the day you have scheduled with your teacher, show your 1st or 2nd period teacher your tutorial pass and have it signed. You should be released at the beginning of tutorial period to attend designated class.
  3. Show your pass to the tutorial teacher, have it signed to verify your attendance.

  • Be prepared and proactive. Do NOT rely on this time to finish homework due the same day.
  • Find out what you need help in and ask for a tutorial pass ahead of time.
  • Come to tutorial with specific questions. Make an attempt to do the work and come prepared with a list of questions and/or concerns.
  • Do your homework the night it is assigned in case you have questions.
  • If you do not need to leave class for tutorial, take advantage of this time to read, complete homework/classwork, or study. Time management is key!

  • Communicate with your teacher at the first sign of trouble! Your best advocate is YOU. Teachers are more than happy to help, but it is essential that you are proactive and motivated to take control of your education.
  • Check School Loop DAILY! Important information, news, reminders, and tips are all there to help you be successful at Cal High. However, it is important you do not rely on this source alone. Keep a personal planner with you at all times to write down assignments, projects, test dates, etc.
  • E-mail your teacher or counselor if you have questions! Especially if you need clarification on an assignment, project, or have inquiries regarding your grade. We are happy to help.
  • Start your homework the night it is assigned! The information is fresh, you have two days to complete the assignment, and an extra day to seek support if you have additional questions!
  • Pace yourself! Balance is key when considering your class load. Thoughtful planning and awareness of strengths, abilities, time available, and goals are essential when choosing classes.
  • Stay organized! Find out what works for you and make it a habit. Crucial time is often wasted due to disorganization and ineffective time management.
